New Parts, Black coating
I'm installing some new rocker panel parts, and floor supports. Do I need to fully remove this black coating before painting & undercoating? Is this stuff just for shelf & shipping protection or can it provide longterm protection?
Thanks, |

Re: New Parts, Black coating
Rub some Lacquer thinner on them. If the coating comes off then yes and if it stays on then you can paint over it.

Re: New Parts, Black coating
Thanks for the tip. I checked my parts today.
Everything I purchased from Top Banana passed (the black stayed on). The two parts I purchased at a local swap meet did not pass (black came off) and will need to be stripped / sprayed with etch primer. |
