Tank Selector Valve - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Good evening all. During my adventure to rebuild my 72 Cheyenne Super K20 I came across a part that I have not had much luck locating. Anyone know where I can get this valve? I would like to have the "selector" plate with it as well. Thanks in advance.

I'll have to do a thorough check through my bookmarks, but a few years ago(maybe 5!) I researched it and found a company that had the identical valve. I emailed them and asked about them supplying GM with this valve and they said they have supplied them for different things over the years and this part was very possible.
I'll scour through some old emails too and see if I can find anything.

Selector plate I'm not sure about, that may have come from Travel Tanks. I recently had a member take a picture of one that is slightly different and I intend on photoshopping it and having it printed on the hard plastic it was on.

Not sure but I think the vale is available from various sources. This one from Amazon might be a match:

Everything shown so far is aftermarket 3-way. The OEM '72 selector valve is two way

The one I'm trying to lose is different, though is original. Nice, works. Label isn't worth more than a reference for a replacement.

as far as a 2-way, how many ports on the bottom? because if there's only 2, that woould be an on/off valve, correct? I'm confused again. Maybe my 4-port havin' is actually called a 3-port? And where the hell is my USB port??

That's like mine 71chevy, 4 ports.

Mine is also 4 way. The bottom port goes to the carb, the middle is for the main and the other 2 are right and left respectively. Mine is an OEM selector. I have the original saddle tanks as well.

I found this never used or drilled label in a box I got in a parts stash score about a year ago. The guy was in his 80's and had a ton of old stuff.

I just bought a new 3 way valve for my restoration. I found that my local Napa dealer had one tucked away for about $40. I also did some calling around to other places including Anderson brass of SC. I found that a lot of boat shops tend to have them too. Are you using 2 or 3 fuel tanks?

When I say "2-way" it means two tank options...stock and aux. Those will have three ports, since one is the "out" port to the engine. The 3-way aftermarket valves like Travel Tanks, Leisure industries, Econo-Tank, etc. have four ports. One will be plugged if two tanks weren't used. The 72 factory deal also came with a guard/shield that mounts in front of the valve

Ya, valves seem to be readily available just about everywhere. I just can't find the selector plate.

Yours would be aftermarket. No dual auxiliary tank option was offered by GM

what about the saddle tanks on each side of the bed? Were they not independent with their own sending unit and supply line to the valve, or were the two tanks plumbed as one and ran to a single valve port?
