Forward tilt hood for 65 GMC
Hello all, i am thinking of installing a forward tilt hood kit on my 65 GMC and was wondering if any of you have installed or had one installed on your pu. Was wanting to know the pros and cons before i got started on this project.And if you know a good choice of a kit. Thanks

I talked to Kevin & he's going to make a lot for 60's c10s as you'll see you can access the front before it tilts forward |

I believe member Joedoh has a forward tilt hood on his truck. There was one on Youtube at a show somewhere as well.

I have a forward tilting fiberglass hood on my 65. I fabbed my own set up. As for pro's- it actually gives you more access to the engine IMO since the engine sits so far back, other than that nothing really except it is different. Cons- I use a prop rod that is occasionally in my way. Would I do it again- probably.
Oh- one other positive is that the hood will not fly up if you leave it unlatched. |
