Re: New trans, not happy, need useful advice
Just to add a comment concerning credit card companies. As a 33 year business owner, I have had customers cancel credit card payments and checks. The problem there is the customer retained the product that I had sold them. Credit card companies would refund, after the product was returned and I deducted the cost due to used equipment and business expense. A check, I had to file a small claims action, get a judgment and then try to collect.

Re: New trans, not happy, need useful advice
I said I'd come back and followup, so here I am.
The trans was ugly as sin, but it's been in 50 miles and seems to operate as you'd expect! The vendor was shiftritetransmissions.com, or shiftritetransmissions on eBay. They were nice enough to eventually send me a dipstick, but drew the line at the inspection cover, I couldn't get them to cough one of those up, so made my TH400 unit sort of work. Can't say I'd be eager to deal with them again, but to their credit the trans worked out of the box, and that's about all I know for sure!
