Not sure what I'd use. Aluminum is easy to work but not to weld. Steel is easier to weld.
It'll need to be custom. Just a shroud between the condenser and the rad support that the condenser mounts sit against would do it.

These custom lines have the #6 and #8 fittings for the barrier hoses I have to make up for my system. I will be using a Sanden 508 compressor in my stock aluminum serpentine brackets. These pics are my work in progress. Still cleaning up the brackets getting for the serpentine conversion.

Very nice. Can you give me the name of that shop that made the custom aluminum lines for you?

Sorry the pic is turned sideways. They can make custom lines based off of a drawing or a sample. I used some scrap brake line to make my samples and they matched the bends and lengths perfectly. The website (www.autoacfittings.com) hand written on the card is a great source for fitting and hose.

Re: Best place to buy a parallel flow condernsor?

Thanks for the info. Ive looked into Tubes n Hoses in the past. They make a bad ass machine that will make damn near anything you need when it comes to tubing and fittings for all sorts of aplications. I wish I could afford it. I could make my own custom ac lines without having to weld or braze. Their headquarters is just outside of Dallas. I need to give a call to see if there are any local dealers If not, I'm originally from florida and I travel back often.

Re: Best place to buy a parallel flow condernsor?

I'd suggest using an AC Delco compressor for R134 conversions....not a no-name parts store one. Also airflow is critical to getting good cooling-My preferred method is to use the 4000+ CFM Motorcraft dual speed electric fans mounted inside the stock pickup shrouds. This way, maximum surface flow and one of the most stout factory style fans too! Keeping the head pressure down on the high side related directly to airflow-especially at idle-low speed.

Also, make sure to change out the low pressure switch on your drier to an R134 switch-same goes for the high pressure switch on the compressor. R134 works at a little higher pressure so the R12 switch will prematurely kick the compressor off-making the system "appear" as though it isn't working as well as with R12.

Only evidence of an electric fan are the aluminum rivets on the top of the stock truck shroud....
