Headers
Im looking for headers for my 1985 chevy c10 lowered 5.5" in the front with a 1985 350 bored 40 over with 96-up stock vortec heads. I need a set of headers that will fit between the block and frame and also i can not have the header sit below the frame due to the truck being so low and also i have a cpp transmission crossmember i have installed and i wanna avoid hitting that so im going to have the exhaust go up and over that crossmember, could you give me some suggestions and part numbers to go with for my application? Pics too!!

If I recall (SB) 350 most long tube header the driver side is lower( drop lower then other side).
Not sure 1990 up long tube header now days. But you may need to make your own to custom long tube header. Or use shorty headers. Or buy set headers you like, cut them change to your needs.

will a gasket that has the round holes work on my heads cause i have the vortec heads and my ports are square with a radius corner cause im not sure? pic below! or will i need a different header? Thanks!!

OBX 92 Camaro long tube headers. They stay above the frame and clear everything in the engine bay.

The long tubes are a d port, they're on my truck with dart heads.
Square port angle plug. Fit and clearance is great.

He gave me a couple P/Ns that would work, but I can't find my notes. Another note on port height relative to header bolt holes: Exhaust gasses are most active at the top of the port. Just like a car going around a turn, the gasses don't want to change direction when they hit the turn, so they are forced to the outside of the turn -- the top of the port. So, the last thing you want to do is cover up even a tiny part of the port with a head gasket or header flange. I ended up using 96-2000 cast iron manifolds, and even had to grind them open at the top around .100". But since I plan to add headers someday, please let me know if you find some that fit. I'm learning that Doug's makes a high quality product, so I would probably call them too. Here you can see that OEM style gaskets cover up the top of a Vortec port. These are FelPro gaskets for a 96-up 5.7L engine, but I don't have the P/N.

Just noticed my Vortec heads' port shape is different than yours, and the bolt holes are a little lower than yours relative to port height. Are yours 064 castings?
