np241 seals

Hello all,

I just rebuilt my transfer case and the new timken seal for the front output shaft was much more narrow (depth) than the OEM that came out. I have a gouge in the aluminum case that holds the seal. I am not sure if I did it with my puller or it was already there. Anyway, i used the gear oil permatex when setting the new seal in the case but i have developed a leak and i think it is fluid leaking between the aluminum case and the metal part of the seal. The seal is only about 1/4 inch in depth.

Does anyone know what brand name seal might have a deeper metal portion so to help seal against the case?

It is possible the rubber portion of the seal might be leaking against my old yoke but i know i have an issue with the damaged case. I most likely will change the yoke at the same time.

Thanks,
Chris
