Torsion bars
I have a small dilemma. I redone the frame,replaced all steering parts. Torsion bars were marked when removed left and right. I am about ready to install the engine and set the cab back on. Torsion keys are basically all the way down and just noticed one side is very stiff, the other not so much. I can stand on the frame and bounce the drivers side, passenger side not hardly at all. Seems one side needs to come back out and be turned a notch. Which one would be correct?

Right now both sides are cranked up evenly but one side is very stiff, the other has a lot of spring. There is no weight on the frame other than the frame itself. The tip of the adjustment bolt is flush with the top of the nut on both sides, so basically all the way down. I'm thinking the side that is really stiff needs to come back out and turn one notch to take tension off that side. Also there are no shocks on the truck yet.

I'm thinking that the soft one needs to have more tension....normally you can't flex it with just your weight, it needs about 1500 - 2000 lbs "full weight" on them adjusted about level then you can bounce it....I couldn't do a final adjustment on mine until the finished weight. It settle a bit more after that.

Here is my set up ready to install and the engine weight aided me to connect the spindle but not with out a fight....good luck, also you can always go back and switch them when the weight on with out to much trouble

Thank you sir. I just wasn't sure which side needed to come back out. That side is rather soft. I want to fix that before motor and trans go in and cab goes on while its easy to get to.

I remember me and a buddy standing on the frame horns when it was a completed roller with engine/ trans installed. We were jumping up in down trying not to fall off to see them flex....It wasn't pretty and there was beer involved...
