Original frame holes or bubba?

Can someone please tell me if these holes were originally in the frame just above and just under the rear leaf spring frame hangers on a 72 short box 4x4? Or did bubba drill these? If original, what purpose did they serve? Can someone post photos of the same location on their 4x4 frame please?Attachment 1523003

Re: Original frame holes or bubba?

Here is a view of the inside of the frame showing the lower hole mostly hidden by the suspension hanger.
