1971 Fleetside bed value

This 8 ft. pickup bed is from a 1971 Chev. No rust underside and some surface rust in spots on topside, but no "rust through" - surface can be made very nice. There are a couple of small creases on the outer bed sides and some dings in the wheel tubs. Has rough complete tailgate, but no gate hardware. I can post some photos within a few days but would appreciate some idea of what it would be worth picked up here. I need to move it - not looking to hold out for top $$. Thanks for any ideas.

Re: 1971 Fleetside bed value

Long beds go cheap & it's usually whatever you can for it you sell it lol Last straight one I bought was $100. I see them for sale for $400-600 but they stay on CL a long time.

Re: 1971 Fleetside bed value

I agree with dubds10 that they go for around $400 on CL. If you're not pressed for time and have the space you may do better by parting it out. A lot of people can't bring themselves to chop up a perfectly good bed but if it's already taken apart they feel better about just taking a piece of it.

Then there's the trailer route if you still have the frame for it.

Good luck either way,
Charles.

Re: 1971 Fleetside bed value

Thanks, Charles. If I could wait longer to move it, I could probably do better on $ by selling these rust-free pieces. But, Iwould much rather have someone take the entire thing plus several other big goodies here - and soon.

I already have two nice trailers made from 3/4 ton frames/beds. No more.
