I have a '72 GMC and on the origional 402BB in my truck it says Hi Perf. on the engine block. What does this mean? Thanks . Dave

Pretty sure they all say that. I had a 402 and it did.

Yep, I agree. Mine says it also....... I don't think it is or means anything special.

It means it is a normal block and not a tall deck big truck block (like a 366 or 427 truck engine)
