Lokar shifters

I am switching from a granny low 4 speed to an automatic in my 74 c10 and was wondering if anyone could post pictures of a Lokar trans mounted shifter through the original hole in the floor.

Re: Lokar shifters

Thank you very much your shifter is exactly what I'm going to buy for mine, I couldn't decide between the 16" or the 23", seeing yours I'm going with the 23".

Re: Lokar shifters

When I installed it, I had to adjust the shifter base in its' farthest aft position so that the handle wouldn't be up against the dash when in park. If you've used a Lokar before, you'll know what I mean. If not, you'll see that the base of the shifter handle is made to slide within its' mount for fore/aft positioning after you've put the shifter onto the trans. mounting plate. Also, if you're a smoker, forget about using the ash tray unless you're in drive. Before I installed the shifter, I had put my DLC connecter in the ash tray (I'm not a smoker), thinking it would be a neat place to conceal it. Well, guess what! I can't use it unless the truck is in neutral now. It is fun to see peoples' reactions when you tell them it's an automatic trans. shifter and not one for a manual trans.
