Wiper switch relocation question

I'm thinking of replacing the steering column in my '85 c10 silverado, but I notice many columns don't have a provision for the wiper switch I'm thinking of putting a stock style dash mounted wiper switch like the earlier squares had, to solve this problem, how difficult, would this be? If it's too difficult, does anyone know where to get replacement plastic housing for the ignition lock and and multipurpose switch,(mine is cracked)Thanks.
