250 header install question

I picked up some Langdon headers of Craigslist.
Im hoping to install them soon and get rid of my old long tube headers.
My question is to those who have installed the Langdons before.
Is there anything that I should look for when I go to install them?
Can This be done by myself,or will I need an extra set of hands?
Thanks in advance

Re: 250 header install question

Mornin' Sal!!!
A couple tips for ya'!!
The locating dowels on each end of the head should be pulled out and the holes tapped for a threaded stud. Better sealing that way and easier to install.
The washers used on the other studs need to be matched to each joint between the header flange and the intake flange. You might need to do a little grinding on them so they sit flat and make equal contact on both flanges.

Re: 250 header install question

What Geezer said is 100% correct. I also uses Studs at every location. Makes the alignment so much easier. Take your time with the grinding and torqueing. When you are happy with the contact area tighten slowly. After it is running re-torque a couple of more times. Makes for a long term seal.
