Re: Counterpart brand 71-72 outer grill

I'm in to see the responses on this one. I looked at a pair of outer grills at the New Braunfels swap meet in April. The vendor opened a brand new box for me to look at, and all the tabs on the back of the outer grill were mangled up right out of the box!

It put me off buying one, but I really would like to have a new one, as fixing up my old one is more than my poor skills can handle.

I would never buy a grill and have it shipped. I was at the "TruckShop" in Orange County a few years ago and wanted to buy a grill. I don't know what brand theirs were but they opened 4 boxes with grills and they all had rub marks or scratches so i didn't buy one.

unless you buy it directly from where it is made wouldn't all of them be shipped to the parts house??

I'm not sure if all the aftermarket grill shells are the same or not? Some I have seen do not fit closely around the front fenders as the originals do.

Agreed but before I hand my money to the vendor selling the grill I want to look at it, as the vendor should when it arrives from the manufacturer.
