Re: its alive my monster is alive
there is a bit of a story with this truck i started to build it when my dad passed away . he always liked old chevy trucks and he sold his fishing boat before he died my mom made me take the money after he passed. i told her i didn't want it but she made me take it so i told her i was going to build a one of a kind truck because my dad would want me too. he loved that i was into building cars and fixing them up. so here it is DAD...

Re: its alive my monster is alive
it took 3 years to build this truck, it gave me a heart-attack 2 yrs ago when i was working on it. i lost my eyesight in my left eye in a grinder accident while repairing the door panel and almost cut my pinky off cutting the sheet metal for the floor. i put my blood sweat and tears into this thing and today is the greatest day ever.

You have a talent for thinking up and writing headlines... that one is a candidate for one of the best on this forum in a while! Saw the video; jeez, lucky you if the old lady/little woman doesn't just flip out about all the noise and smoke... Thanks for that one though! :-) |

After reading that terrible thread, I bought a face shield and began using that in welding class or anytime I can when I wire wheel or grind something. Glad to learn your truck is running! |

Ha-ha! I just had a terrifying thought; what if all of the 1967-72 Chevy truck wives got together on a forum thread of their own to compare notes with each other about the surreptitious activities of their Hubbies? There would go our convenience of sending her shopping while we run our truck parts through her dishwasher, use her nail polish to clock the drive shaft for removal, borrow her blow dryer to get that stubborn adhesive off the valve covers, and run our carburetor parts through her ultrasonic jewelry cleaner.. Not to mention using the guest hand towels to buff that dried Turtlewax off. |
