Nice Truck in Austin, Texas

I was heading to the house to work on my truck when I forgot something and had to turn around to back to my house. When I did I cut through a neighborhood to do so. And that is where I saw this really nice short bed. Now that I have seen one in person I really like the original wheel covers on it.

Dang good looking truck. So who are you? I am looking to meet a couple guys in town who have the same interest in these trucks and could lend some insight in to the build. Especially if you only live 1/2 a mile from me. I don't want to give any information on that just if case you don't want your general location out there.

Awesome truck. Great garage space. Plenty of room for a frame off.

Nice trucks, looks like the Ochre guy has a cool Camaro in the works too. Whoever he is, it's obvious that he has the sickness, but he just may not have found the website yet lol!!

Awesome. I hope more local guys chime in. Could be cool to meet up and all drive our trucks somewhere to talk shop.
Any Bastrop, San Marcos, New Braunfels, Kyle, Buda, Roundrock guys out there?

I hear ya on that one...the wife and I are looking to do much the same thing next year. Move out of city limits so I can build a shop.

New to the site. Very nice truck, my favorite color combination for the C10's, well I like the light green color too. I have a 72' SS/RS still apart and I am picking up a 69' CST next week if the weather holds.

Nice looking truck. Just curious what size tires you have on it and if it is lowered at all?

I live between Round Rock and Cedar Park off of 1431. I know of at least 4 other trucks just in my neighborhood.

Re: Nice Truck in Austin, Texas

I live in NW Hills, Austin. I have seen a pristine ochre and white truck roaming around the neighborhood on several occasions. Might be the same one. FWIW, my first car (hand me down from my mom) was a 1971 RS Camaro. My father let me build (he paid for it) a LT1 spec engine that I dropped in. Wish I still had that car!

Re: Nice Truck in Austin, Texas

Any of you local guys want the original 3 speed from my truck- it's free - just pick it up. I have to move in 15 days. All that is left of the 3OTT is the transmission, bellhousing and flywheel cover. Worked great when removed - just dirty.

That car is worth some money today.

If I lived nearby, I'd come get it. Best of luck with your move.

Re: Nice Truck in Austin, Texas

Hey, any of you local guys have any extra bots that hold a Rochester Quadrajet to the intake? I took mine off a while ago to clean it up and rebuild but have since lost the bolts. I'm pretty sure they were tossed. It is the two shorts up front and the two long ones in the back? Just a shot in the dark. I need to order some if not.

Also since I'm shooting in the dark. Anyone out there have a oil pump priming tool you aren't using and could lend out? I just don't to spend $30 for something I will probably only use once.

Some auto parts stores will rent tools....I'd check on renting an oil pump priming tool. That's a job I have coming up, hopefully pretty soon.
