Looks really nice but the VIN definitely started life as a 2wd

That's why I was asking, the response I got from the company selling it said he didn't know anything about it other than what it shows. I informed him that it was not a factory 4WD, but a conversion, and that he may want to note that in the description.

Sure is a nice looking truck! Not sure if it's going to bring that price though, but I guess it's possible

A nice enough truck for sure but as for its value, thats high...too high in my opinion.
When I see that whole 'homebuilt', mix and match element....I'm out.
I think a lot of the bigger money in the classic car hobby has to have the original manufacturers work attached to it....ie: 'Built by GM'.....and not by a guy in his backyard....again, at least when bigger money is involved.
This is a slippery slope because you have to find out just how many parts from how many vehicles went back into this correctly. Was it rushed? compromised?...what all was substituted?...or it turns into that Johnny Cash Cadillac song...lol (great song tho')
For me, with all those questions and possible issues, there is a ceiling of value.
The last thing you want is to have spent $35,000 on a truck like that...then spend another $5-$10k? correcting it, fixing it or explaining its oddities.
So, as always....the asking price is what usually brings out the (stronger) opinions such as mine and the higher the price the heavier the scrutiny.
For an $18-22k truck....go for it!

All Good

Re: Anybody know who's truck this is on ebay?

Very nice truck, but with way too many questions requiring answers. In addition to the conversion, red flags for me are:
- Pre-1971 steering column.
- Pre-1971 floor mounted accelerator and carb linkage.
- Lacking the Cheyenne trim level stainless steel accents on the brake pedal and accelerator.
- The dash looks like an original factory A/C dash, but the controls are non-A/C and aftermarket A/C is installed. What was it originally?
- No SPID or VIN tag pictures which might add info.

I do not intend my comments to be bashing. These are just things I'd need answers to before investing even $10,000 in this truck which otherwise appears to be nicely done. A onsite personal inspection would be in order.

If you look closely at the side vents, they are the small aftermarket vents, the dash was cut for aftermarket A/C

Re: Anybody know who's truck this is on ebay?

Maybe its just me but I woud be scared to death to drive the thing lol . I much prefer a driver quality truck with a few imperfections that I can take to the dump or throw the dogs in the back. Still a really good looking truck but not my cup O tea.
