Planned on some spaghetti time the past couple of nites... between evening Thunderstorm Saturday and other complications last night... no wiring progress... Arkansas summer has arrived Full Force, the last week or so has seen the heat index hovering between 105 and 115F, no shop w/ AC and working on truck out in heat equals little truck time for this old guy...

While browsing fb yesterday morning, I ran across a truck guy in GA with this dilemma... seems the PO of his '64 hacked up the heater box for some unknown reason...

While digging through my parts stash, to pull out the aforementioned heater box, I found this license plate bracket...

I even found the cork gasket for the lens is pliable and ready for service...

After a little hammer and dolly work I masked off the socket and began the paint process...

Painted the inside of the lens cover white...

Here's a pic of the back of my gauge cluster, with a new box of bulbs for illuminating it... prepping for more spaghetti work...

Worked through the holiday weekend... and in the evenings I've been accomplishing some honey-dooz, in order to facilitate some truck time...

Over the past few days, I've started getting back after the wiring and also addressing the issue of the clutch pedal being about an inch and a half or more taller than the brake pedal... The wiring in the cab and front end is almost complete... the alternator still needs to be wired and the front and rear lights are not hooked up due to the fact that the front clip and bed are still separate from the cab and frame... I also need to purchase a fuel sending unit from LMC, as that is where the tank came from... On to the pics...

This was the temp when I called it a day today... thankful for a tent and fan and plenty of ice water...

Hard to tell from this angle, but the clutch peal is now about 3/4 of an inch taller than the brake... more better in my world...

The Gauge Cluster wired and in place, need to clean up bezel and find the screws...

Next up is to wrap all this and put in it's home up under the dash... Gonna remove the seat so I can get myself in the proper position to make this job a tad easier...

Once I get the wiring settled under the dash, I'll be focusing on the brake lines, clutch pedal linkage, and then getting the front clip and bed installed...

Been pondering the bed floor, and think I'm going to steal Coulter's hinge idea...

Do you have a rubber bump stop for your clutch pedal? It mounts like the brake light switch in front of the pedal. Back in the day a lot of times it was missing and the clutch pedal would be higher than the brake.

Thanx to member Notsolo I now have the info I need to wire the alternator correctly...

I have a resistor on order and know which wires need to be hooked where on the regulator plug... Resistor should be here Friday...

So this morning I rolled the truck outta the tent, removed the seat, so I can fit myself under the dash to finish sorting the cab wiring... After removing the seat, the in-cab fuel tank disappeared...

I then cut part of the brackets in lieu of drilling spot welds...
...they are now ground smooth and waiting for me to paint in order to finish covering any and all yellow from the previous paint scheme...

Not sure how I'm going to deal with this hole, notice the spaghetti waiting to be tucked away up under the dash... As for the hole, I've an idea up me sleeve, just not a complete idea...

98% of the cab and engine wiring is complete...please don't ask for the formula to reach the %age point... Couldn't answer that one anyway...

Just started blasting on mine....have some tweaking to do with my blaster. lol And lot's of little holes to fix, but soon I should be priming the bottom I hope. Probably next weekend.

Earlier in the day I dropped by a muffler and welding shop in town and picked up a piece of 3/4" steel rod...

...cut to length, 3 &1/2", drilled each end and tapped to 3/8x16 threads...

Friend of mine lives in Siberia. The weather is a lot cooler right now than here. Lol. But I'll pass on winter there. Brrrrrrrr. But summer seems nice.
