Removal tool for door latch and window regulator
Hey all,
What special tool did you use to remove the square looking fasteners on the window regulator and door latch mechanism? Or did some of you just grind them off and replace it with traditional hardware? |

Re: Removal tool for door latch and window regulator
I have used a big flat head screw driver or a pair of needle nose pliers just to get them out instead of buying a new tool. I replaced them with phillips head bolts.

Check your local Napa. I bought a clutch head screwdriver there once.

Re: Removal tool for door latch and window regulator
Snap-on sells them too... and while I know Snap-on is usually expensive, I still bought all the clutch-head sizes they have (it's three or four).
Holley carbs also use a small one, so I figured I'd get them all. They also show up at swap meets and pawn shops once in a while, so I've also got a set of the bigger ones in my junkyard tool box, which has come in handy more than once. No... I am NOT a tool junky... :-) okay, maybe a little bit of one, because I also have a full set of clutch-head sockets for 3/8-inch ratchets that I've put together one-at-a-time from the swap meet. And was damn glad I had 'em when it came time to take the barn door hardware off a junkyard Suburban! -Brad
