Converting to hydro clutch
Hi guys I'm about to get underway with my LS swap in my 1972 c10 but I have run into a problem...
The LS engines do not have a place to mount a traditional Z bar so I am forced to convert to either a Hydraulic clutch or Hydraulic throwout bearing. I have scoured the web and can't seem to find anyone that makes a direct kit for our trucks so I'm hoping there is someone here that will know a little more about this than me. My truck currently has no power brakes either so I am sure I will need to get a booster. Thanks ahead of time!!

Well i'm on a tight budget, so i used the same setup that was in the firebird i got the motor and trans out of,i just fabricated a bracket beneath the dash in line with the existing clutch linkage.

I'm running mechical linkage with my LS3. Much easier to mount the ball stud than to do a whole hydraulic conversion.
You can mount it many ways, and this bracket is only one of them (it bolts to the bellhousing, requires a little grinding on the block) http://sdparts.com/i-24074894-sdpc-s...nd-trucks.html

McLeod makes a nice hyd t.o. bearing. I've using them a couple of times with TREMEC tko-500's, once in a '92 C1500, the other in my '69 C10. Just do some measuring bolt the master to the firewall and connect the pushrod to the clutch pedal with a clevis & turnbuckle. I fabbed mine up in no time. I also have a RAM hyd t.o. setup that I'm about to use with a TREMEC tko-600, and the setup is a little nicer than what's showing below. This go around I used a rod end instead of a clevis, and used Lokar Pedals.

I have not put an LS in a pickup yet unless you count my current build (72 El Camino) as a truck, like GM did.
On my last 67 chevelle LS swap and my current El Camino ls swap I used a bracket from Tick Performance that installs under the master cyl. and the clutch slave cyl. mounts to that. The remote res. mounts off to the side. That way you are using the factory stuff. Worked fine for me and my buddy.
