Found another Cherry truck - in a search for a new project

I found an all original 68 C10 long box, that I will go look at later this week. It is 99.9% rust free, and by the pic , I believe the owner. It is all red with the white 68 front grille, and chrome inserts. It is original paint, and looks great in the pic at least.

Price is $4,000 cdn.
Options include, guage cluster (no tach), 307 V8, TH400 tranny, wood bed. Interior is suppost to be all original, and guages work. Only engine mod is adding of 4bbl intake and carb. It had radio delete, but apparantely p/o put a din chassis CD in the dash. Too bad.

What rear end ratio would this unit likely have?

In the boards opinion, how collectable is a 68 C10 longbed that is all original and numbers matching. If I do a complete restoration, do you think it is worth it.

Im thinking, a rust free cab is almost non existant in Alberta, but then I found two this last week alone.

This truck is much more attractive to me than the 67 long step that I found.

Usually a V8 automatic in a 1/2 ton is a 3:07. 3:73 was optional. I know that is true for the 350, and I'm pretty sure it is fact for the 307.

Post some pictures and we can see just how original it is for a 68.

I don't think numbers matching really matters a whole lot unless it was a rare drive train to begin with or it has some other rare options that make it desireable as a whole. The 307 is not the most sought-after motor out there.

In all my 68 literature there's no mention of the TH400 being available so you might want to look into that. I guess it's really a TH350 or someone changed it to a TH400.
