Lift options for 1974 C30 3+3
I have a C30 crew cab Ive been trying to sell for a while with no takers. Now with another kid on the way it looks like Ill be keeping it. I was thinking of converting to 4WD but dont think its necessary for the camping we would be doing with it and since I already have a K20 burb Ill use that when needed.
I want to keep the 8 lug as I may put a camper on it at some point or tow a trailer and want to keep the brakes but am willing to use a 3/4 coil if necessary. Looking for around 3 in lift, way back when I used to see lift springs for 2wd offered but cant seem to find anything for early square bodies anymore. Is there a lift spindle or any other methods that can be recommended? Thanks |

Or years ago fabtech made a 2wd lift for these trucks,Not sure if it will work on a 1 ton but if you can find that kit used it could be a option.

The tires are 235/85-16 and are about 32 inches tall, it got me 3 inches, I'm not positive of the year of the p30 but it was late 80s

I think the best you are going to do for a lift on your truck is a body lift with bigger tires. You could go with a 2" body lift, and a set of 255/85/16 tires. The 2" body lift would require lengthening of the shift rod if your truck has an automatic. The 255 tires are 33" in diameter, and may require spacers in the rear.

Re: Lift options for 1974 C30 3+3
I found your thread on lifting the front of your 74 C30 while searching for a way to gain 3" of stance for my project. I am working on a 1968 C30 that will have the front crossmember, suspension, and 454 from a 1982 Chevy C30 donor. I'm waning to run larger tires and will need the extra clearance. I've found a 1984 P30 with the 5 bolt, 10 hole wheels on Craigslist that is being parted out and was wondering if you think the P30 front end suspension parts could provide the extra lift? I like the way your truck looks with the extra height! Hope to gather the parts needed and start this project soon. Thanks!

The class A motor homes are on a P30 chassis. They are a wealth of good parts for our trucks. Maybe you can find one at your local junk yard.
