Stepside cross sills

How many cross sills do I have to have for a step side with a wood bed?

Re: Stepside cross sills

Try going to LMC and look at they're catalog or go to the builds section and find a title with step side, stepper or equivalent and surf thru it for a picture.

Re: Stepside cross sills

As stated above, the LMC catalog has good pics. Here's my '67 after I took it off:

The quantity your looking for depends if you have a lwb or a swb stepper.

A swb only has 4 sills 3 regular and one of the small ones right above the axle. Also the rear main under the tail gate.

You have too pay attention too the holes for the step braces
Not all sills have the holes and the ones that do have too face the correct way.

That's ok.
I had a 9' stepper here witch has even more cross sills.
Then it becomes more important to face the sills the correct way since they have more step braces. I'm thinking 3 of the braces on a 9'.
I don't recall how many step braces are on a 8' stepper and I'm not digging out my 8' step side steps out too check. But by your pic above I'm gonna say 2 braces.
