Do any of you like the factory stance?

I have a lifted truck and a lowered truck. I like the lifted truck cuz I can climb over big stuff and get in the water pretty deep. But alas I am getting old and will probably lower it back down when I get the money to do so. Stock hubcaps too. I lowered my Blazer cuz my hips are getting bad and it is hard to get my dog in the lifted truck. She just walks right in the lowered truck. I will most likely use some helper air bags to tow with and haul stuff with the lowered truck.

Rocking the stock ride height. But I do use mine to haul stuff. I like the rake.

To me, as long as the front is lower than the back I will like it.

I like them lowered, just not a fan of them on the ground. And I do contempleate lowering mine a little and putting some aftermarket rims and tires on it from time to time. It would handle much better, I know that. BUt I like the fact that I can do things like back straight out of my angled drieway without worrying about scraping and things like that.

The stock setup on my truck does look a little "goofy" I suppose, especially by today's standards. 15x6 rims on a huge truck. But that's how they looked when they were new and that's one of the reasons I like it so much.

i prefer the lowered 2wd trucks. i too have pretty much lowered every vehicle i have ever owned. i like the guys who keep stock as well this isnt an argument but i may try to explain why i like lowered trucks.

1. i like the stiffer ride in exchange for better handling.
2. loading extremely heavy objects is a breeze. i once loaded a yamaha R6 into the bed of my slammed 65, without ramps! if you don't know what an R6 is that may not sound impressive i can assure you its no easy task.
3. in the instance you do need to tow a trailer especially if its a low deck trailer i find my lowered trucks always tow better, probably has to do with the stiffer springs.

there are more benefits to a lowered truck as well as many downfalls 1 mainly i cant get a floor jack under the center of my front cross member meaning i have to jack up the truck one side at a time. i hate that. however thats only temp unitil i get air ride.

If you asked me 10 years ago, I would have said 'stock only'....but I've warmed up to a modest drop, maybe a 2"/3" or something like that.
Anything more and....well, look at all the posting about guys having trouble with u-joints, steering, suspension, interference, etc, etc....clearly this isn't as straight forward on the truck as it is marketed.
Regardless....I won't turn anyone away who has put work into their truck...whether it is a GM, Ford, Dodge, International....life is too short and the hobby is too great to putz with such things.

I shouldn't even get started on this, but trucks are trucks they are suppost to sit up not drag the ground . people do the same thing with semi trucks, i just don't understand why,bumper,tanks, boxes get dented up all the time just because they think is is cool to drag the ground WHY???? I think any truck should sit up and look pride, not down and sad looking. but again that just my thoughts. I just hate seeing nice trucks get ruined.I also will never understand why any one would take a nice 20/30 and put 5 lug wheels on them and lower them,and shorhten them. just don't make any since to me.well I will get down off my soapbox now.I like them to look stock

Nope. Stock 2WD 3/4 ton ride height is perfect.

For me it would depend on the vehicle. My last 100% stock K20, original ride height, save for the saggy leaf discount.

This truck i have now should be lifted.

If I had a 2wd blazer, I might lower it a little bit.

I don't mind the look of a slightly lowered truck. I was at a car show and saw a lwb truck that was slightly lowered and liked the look so asked the owner what he had done to it. It had 235/75 15 tires on it and he told me he had used a 2 1/2 inch dropped spindle in front and a 4 inch drop spring in the back. The truck looked level which I like and using that combo pretty much took the front to back rake away form the truck.

Trucks should be lifted and shifted. You wanna ride close to the ground get a car, save the trucks for us.

Stock with a 2 inch rear drop to level it out because of the rake it had with the stock leafs

Stock height here. My truck is pretty level and I like it. I like a 4 inch lift on a 4x4 and a lowered truck now and then. But I fell in love with Chevrolet pickups at stock height. Ready for work with a chance of play and an abundance of class!

To me, that one is a good looking lowered truck. Some get it right IMHO. My personal preference is still stock, I guess you have to like what you drive.

I was just thinking, a few years ago I added a front sway bar off a 1970 suburban to my 1970 C10. Is it my imagination or could a sway bar raise the front of a truck an inch or two? I know my truck sits pretty level now.

Nice to know what is right for you. My lowered trucks "are" my car. I don't own one of those. I'm a truck guy and own more than one for all my needs. Your statement reminds me of the times I've had guys say, "Your shortbed is worthless. It can't haul as much as a longbed". And that's when I say, "That's why I own a longbed, too". To me its like saying a concrete truck can't haul lumber. Exactly!

Stock is my preferred flavor.
I think pre-ww2 truck look good lowered.
I think a flat fender with 40's has its place too.
It depends on how it's all put together and a persons style has some to do with it. Two of the same truck lowered side by side could have totally different styles and I could gravitate to one and you the other - in the end I think there's something for everyone.
Generally, though, a truck is a truck and stock height is the utilitarian sweet spot for me.
