4x4 trans tunnel
I am swapping a 2x4 crew cab over to 4x4. I already swapped all brackets and have the 2x4 frame on the 4x4 axles. I do not really want to cut out the floor for the 4x4 trans tunnel. Can you do a body lift to clear the trans and t case in lieu of cutting out the tunnel?

Re: 4x4 trans tunnel
It isn't too bad to cut the floor and bolt the high hump on. New carpet or mat and it's good to go

Re: 4x4 trans tunnel
Turbo 400 NP205. Im not scared of the work. I can't find a bolt in hump local. All the trucks in the scrap yard are the one piece floor. I'd have to cut that out and make it into a bolt in piece. I'd rather not cut the floor out if I don't have to.

Re: 4x4 trans tunnel
The turbo 400 is easier than the 4 speed I bet. I think your trouble spot will be the ridge that goes across door to door under the front edge of the seat. I remember it being tight there even with a high hump.

Re: 4x4 trans tunnel
Around here guys used to use a 2" body lift rather than cut the floor.

Re: 4x4 trans tunnel
82 was the last year for bolt in tunnel. The shape of the floor hump is very different in 83 up. I just converted a 87 cab to 4X4 high hump and I had to find another cab and cut the high hump out larger than mine was cut out and punched it all around and spot welded it in.
