a true "70's" paint job if ever I've seen one...

Almost needs a matching Chevy Van with shag carpet and crescent moon windows on the side to go with it... Ha. It's on ebay but really just posting for the cool old paint.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-C-...m=252525433766 (and oh btw, originally a swb dark yellow 71 K10...)

Now, I wouldn't paint one like this today, BUT, if you have any cool 70's striping or custom work pics from the 70's, post em up?

In fact, my 76 still has the remnants of some 70's vibe. Second pic is a cool one I saved from one of SSTim's posts I believe - good representative shot of the love of pinstripes in the 70's.

I'm still getting email from ebay when new trucks come up for auction and I saw this one this morning. Good truck but that paint is not my cup o' tea...

- thanks galaxie - noticed the link in post 1 is now dead, not sure what happened.
- Sicklajoie, that chevelle definitely qualifies as a 70's funkadelic paint job, ha.
- 71 3/4 ton, I don't think these paint jobs are ANYbody's cup of tea. Sometimes good to visit the past, that's all.

Overall, that's a nice truck. It wouldn't take much to whip it back into show shape. I'd drive it the way it is, because I darn sure wouldn't worry about scratching it. The wife would kill me if I started bidding on it.

Hey now that is my cup of tea! I lived the seventies and early 80s with these old trucks. Not long after this craze started the chrome "bolt on" period where there was no imagination when building a truck just who could bolt more chrome crap on, triple roll bars and 20 shocks! I have a cousin that turned out some pretty cool paint jobs on gassers and hot rods using lace and the art of fading. I probably wouldn't paint one like this today but it's sure neat to see one that has survived.
