Brake shoe anchor
My son snapped the brake drum anchor pin bolt on his truck. I have searched online and cant find a replacement. I can find one for chevelle and Camaros but none for the c10. Any idea where I can go to find one or anyone have one laying around?

Re: Brake shoe anchor
Any parts store, just tell them you need a drum brake hardware kit for your model year. I think I got my kit from Autozone for 10 bucks, has all the hardware including springs.

Re: Brake shoe anchor
You would think. But no not this part. This bolts to the backing plate. Here is a picture of the broken pin.

Re: Brake shoe anchor
Aren't they part of the backing plate? The easiest and fastest would be to get a replacement backing plate from a like vehicle.
Remove the rear diff cover Remove the C-Clip Pull the axle Pull the seal/bearing Unscrew the brake line Remove the wheel cylinder Unbolt the backing plate. Install is reverse.

Re: Brake shoe anchor
Some of them have a large nut on the back of the backing plate. If so, remove this nut & tap out the anchor pin. You should be able to find one at a salvage yard. If it is built in to the plate you will need to replace the backing plate.

You're right! Now that I look at the picture he attached again, it looks like his may be the "nut" version. Howdy neighbor!

Re: Brake shoe anchor
Snap a pic of the pumpkin and the backing plate, load up the tools and go to the nearest picnpull in DFW. Go to the truck section and pull what you want.

Re: Brake shoe anchor
I got two of them for you, they are threaded into it. A good torch with some heat and a heavy impact took it out.
