Thoughts??
I have recently purchased a 73 gmc 2500 and thinking about making a dually out of it. Its a coil spring rear end with the factory helper springs and very large axle under it. havent had time to figure out which axle it is. Who has done this type of swap and how did it work out for ya. Fixing to crawl under it and try to find some marking on rear end, jus wanted to start a tread to get some suggestions on this idea. will update what i have when i am done inspecting. Thanks Gang!

Ok update. Rear end is a dana 60. trans is a 350. Motor i was told is a 350 but cant find the correct code to decode the block. I know plant, year and week. cant find the last part to decode. casting number to right front of block V0421TRJ. Thanks!!!

Not intended as a slam, but you might generate more responses in the 73-87 Squarebody forum. I'd also give a more descriptive title, like "Dually Conversion".

This might be a dumb question. But didn't 73 and up have leaf springs in the rear or am I missing something.

I believe 72 was the last year of the Dana 60 and coils in the rear.
73 had leaf springs and corporate GM axles. Pictures will tell the tale and I reserve the right to be incorrect.
