1966 truck horn button installation
I cant find what I need in the search forum. All I need to know is in what order does the horn button assemble go from steering wheel out. Also does the pin in the wheel stick up or does it go under the thin metal plate. Some pictures show 3 pieces and some show 4 pieces.

Re: 1966 truck horn button installation
Maybe this will help http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cbe...=horn%20button its hard to see on the net but on paper it looks likethe thin metal ring goes first, then the plastic deal with the 3 teats, the cap retainer and screw follow that and I believe the contact with spring to go under the thin metal ring. Because when you push the botton, the thin metal ring flexes downward to meet the contact with spring. It's the best I got bro' because its been a long time since I messed with mine.

Re: 1966 truck horn button installation
Horn brush , spring plate , cup , then insulators with screws ... brush is UNDER "thin metal plate" AKA spring plate AKA belleville spring
Center/ hub has to be clean so when button is pushed spring plate hits it and has good contact ....Outer edge of spring plate has to be on the plastic coating of the wheel to insulate it Last edited by jtrichard; 10-11-2016 at 08:33 PM. |
