Re: What went here?
Both sides have that little bit of steel which look like it was cut away. Its a 1970 C10.

Re: What went here?
Looks like the bell housing mount did someone cut it?
Was it an original Manuel trans |

Re: What went here?
Not sure but it appears as though it was based on the fact that there is no "shifter" on the steering column.

Re: What went here?
That's what they are bell housing mounts I didn't notice before but the clutch rod is still on it
If your running an automatic you won't need them just cut the rivets and remove them it will clean up the engine bay. Looks like someone has already installed a trans crossmember |

Re: What went here?
So its only needed for manual transmissions? If I put an auto in there I don't need it?

Re: What went here?
No you won't need it as the automatics have tail housing mounts. The Manuel trans all were bell housing mounted (2 wheel drive) it looks like there is a trans crossmember already installed for a automatic trans

Re: What went here?
Oh and one more thing, are those the correct engine mounts for a 350?

Re: What went here?
Other than relocating mounts, is there anything that would make putting a 350 in there a pain?

Re: What went here?
Not if you are going with a auto trans, need that crossmember, exhaust and get the driveshaft and hook up the accessories and your on it....
I have converted a 6 to 8. Smitty

Re: What went here?
You'll need to source new engine mounts for a SBC, the 6cyl mounts will not work with A V8

Re: What went here?
I just cant decide whether to take on the project or not. $500 bucks and pretty much only needs an engine, exhaust and driveshaft to make it road ready. I don't see any others in similar condition for this cheap so wondering if something fishy is going on.
I'd gut this interior though. |

Re: What went here?
I used the 6 cylinder mounts for a 350, just moved them forward. Seemed to work ok.

Re: What went here?
Go there with a trailer, and four "Ben Franklins" in your hand and judging from the weed growth, he'll probably take it.
Get a rebuildable 6 cylinder, a used TH350, and for under $2000 you'll have a great parts hauler. If I was to find something like that, it would be worth the Wife's screaming to do just that |

Re: What went here?
Project acquired. $500 for what you see here and turns out all its missing is an engine.
EDIT: Don't know why the sucker is sideways. |
