EEC fuel tank with vented gas cap ok?????

I have a Spectra EEC fuel tank I just purchased. Everdentally they all come with the larger fuel neck like the 70 on back trucks have. My 72 originally had the 1 1/2 inch neck. I believe all the earlier gas caps were vented. Would it create any problems running a vented gas cap on my EEC tank?

Thanks,
Ray
