1974 Chevrolet K5 Blazer *Partial Restore*

Newby here on this forum but a long time lurker.

Starting in September 15' I spent 5 months looking up and down the west coast for a Full Convertible Blazer/Jimmy with a solid foundation that wasn't a complete hack job or a rust bucket.

In the meantime I found a 86 K30 parts truck that I used for donor parts to swap in my future Blazer.

I finally found a unmolested Blazer down in California and just so happened to be the day before valentines day, soooo the wife and I did a 24 hour road trip to pick this up.

I removed the 465/203, dana 44 and 12 bolt and I swapped in the TH400/205, dana 60 and 14bolt. The automatic was a must for the wife when she wanted to drive it around.

Here is some pics throughout the process of bringing it back to life. I started in mid February and finished it at the end of June. Pretty much a 4 month turn around..

Very impressive so you swapped the d60 14 bolt from the crewcab?

Thank you. Yup, pretty much the whole drivetrain, tires and wheels minus the 454.

Very nice work. I've always wanted a full convertible blazer.

Looks great, so you didn't have to do any paint work to the exterior? I want to do the same thing to a 69-72 or a 73-75, gotta have a full convertible!

Thank you. Surprisingly no. There is a few surface rust spots, dings and dents but other than that its in relatively good condition. I spent a long time finding one thats not a rust bucket that didn't cost a fortune. Be patient!
