Okay so my truck has a th350 trans with the stock 80s transfer case (whatever that is) and was wondering where the speedometer cable hooks into.

Don't know for sure. If it was a newer style transmission or transfer case. Would it operate off of speed sensor?

Its from a 78 k10 i believe (based off the frame) and my brother in laws 87 c10 2wd with a Th350 has a speedometer cable, so i believe this one would, its still a manual transfer case.

Re: 350 TH 4x4 help.

If the T-case came from a '78 Chevy it is a 203, the speedometer cable connects into a port on the tail housing of the T-case.

Do a google search for 203 Transfer Case Speedometer Cable connection and you will see plenty of images.

Re: 350 TH 4x4 help.

It comes out on the drivers side. I just figured out how to attach a pic... If you have a 203 T-case, the rear of the housing will look like this, and you can see the speedo cable going into it.

First you said '80s and now you say it is specifically a '78. What it the "it" in your above post that is a '78, the transmission, transfer case, or the whole unit? You need to be clear to get a clear answer. Not sure where the '87 2wd fits in to all this, either. Can you post pictures? I'd like to help. I'd like to help but too confused to do any good at this point.
