Hey!
I'm Blacktop Joe and I am new to this forum. It's great to find a place to talk with others about the trucks we all enjoy.
I have a 1969 GMC 2500 Custom. It has the 350 engine, TH400 transmission, and a positraction rear with 3.73 gears. I'm the 3rd owner and the story I've been told is the original owner bought it for camping. It has 2 added saddle fuel tanks and many tie down hooks. It has no tailgate and there are holes in the bed that seem to indicate that a fifth-wheel hitch was mounted at some point. I was told that the Carousel Red paint is original. The engine and transmission have performance modifications from the second owner. I plan to keep the truck as it is today and maintain it as a weekly driver. My wife has found many things for me to move/haul so the GMC will always be a truck and not a show vehicle. There is nothing wrong with show vehicles but mine will have to stay scratched up for a while. I have a list of small projects that keep me busy with the wrenches. Luckily, none of them will keep it off the road! Last edited by Blacktop Joe; 12-23-2016 at 06:04 PM. |
