Found a 1966 gmc 4x4 burb
In slightly less than ideal condition. It has sat in the same place for at least 6 years. Still looks pretty much compete underneath. 3.54 Dana 44s both front and rear. Sm 420 trans. Sm v8 exposed to the elements. Decent hatch with supports. No original seats. Every panel is dented and/or rusted. has front sheet metal too. How rare is it? Is it worth fixing? Did I mention original paint.

Re: Found a 1966 gmc 4x4 burb
I've seen a lot worse... I wonder why the rear wells were cut out... Anything can be fixed or repaired but how much are you really willing to spend on it...but you might be better off finding something better shape or atleast not missing so much. It may have been a parts vehicle that might explain why the front end is gone and the seats, and someone may have cut those rear wells of to fix there rust on there's...it's sad to see it like that especially being a 4x4 not many of those around especially if it's a GMC...

Re: Found a 1966 gmc 4x4 burb
the guy that owns it now said it had 44" tires on it when he bought it. that's probably why the quarters were cut out. It has all of the front sheet metal but it all looks like the rest of the vehicle, dented and rusty. it has a painted grill that's useable. sorry I didn`t get pictures of that . it is a factory 1966 GMC 4X4 suburban. so how rare is it?

Re: Found a 1966 gmc 4x4 burb
Somewhere on this forum is a thread with the production numbers for the '60-'66 trucks. That would give you an idea how rare that Burb is.

Re: Found a 1966 gmc 4x4 burb
In that time, Chevrolet made about 500 4x4 Subs per year. GMC having much lower production volume than Chevy suggests the truck is very rare. These trucks don't command premium prices despite rarity, so don't get too excited. That aside, the truck is rough and appears to be a parts truck now.

Re: Found a 1966 gmc 4x4 burb
It may be just a parts truck now but it could be a great source of parts to build a 4X4 from a better start.

That's rust free compared to what we have up here.

Looks pretty solid other than the cut out rear fenders, Rear tailgate pan unbolts , and could be straitened out. Nice project for someone.
