drive shaft ?
hey guys,anybody running a one piece drive shaft with a 400 turbo,in a short bed truck.
if so what did you use or make,thanks todd

thats a good question I am doing the same, 1 piece driveline with 400 and need to find out what to use for driveline

I have a one piece aluminum shaft from Denny's Drive Shaft, but I am running a 350 turbo.

What I've done several times is find one at the junkyard that fit as close as I could find, preferably a little too long. My local salvage yard used to have stacks of them. Anyway I found that even though it was off a Olds or Pontiac where the U-joint clips are on the Inside I could use conversion U-joints ( inside clip to outside chevy clip) from the local Car Quest and make them work. I have had to have them cut down a couple of times though. If you don't cut too much off sometimes you can luck up and not have to rebalance the drive shaft. I have done this for 350 and also 400 turbos.

If anyone knows the difference n short shaft TH350 and the TH400 (did 400's have long and short shaft versions??) then you may be able to go off my one pce shaft in my SWB small block TH350 truck. Mine is 4 foot 10 inches center of hole to center of hole.

my driveshast
i got a driveshaft for my shortbed out of an old buick. I had to get it cut down a few inches though. the holes on the drive shaft were bigger than the stock holes for the u joint. i just switched out the caps. the reason i used this was because it was spare, but the race shope said that this driveshaft was better to use. I sandblasted it and powdercoated it and put her behind the th400. been working great since.
