Headlight bucket repair
One of the head light buckets from my 1948 3100 has the tab that holds the chrome headlight ring mounting screw is missing. Looking for repair suggestions.

I think he's referring to the tab inside the bucket, not the stainless outer ring.
since you are in Fresno, I'd check with Turners out on Willow. Maybe have a replacement bucket. Or if you have a some metal a drill and a welder, fab one yourself. |

Gotta read the whole question all the way through before throwing out an Answer.
I've got a couple of smashed headlight buckets on some fenders but I don't know if that bracket is usable or even there. What I would do is cut a new bracket out of sheet metal and shape it to fit and tack it in place but use one of those tin clip nuts that you can get out of the little slide boxes above the bolt bins at Ace to screw the hold down screw in. Drill the hole a little bigger and slip the clip in place. Make the piece match the one on the other side.
