Re: Radio cutout repair

This is the one thing I wish I could un-do. I cut my dash 5 years ago when my original radio went out. wanted a CD player. Now I would love to have that classic radio look back. Worst part is I butchered up a perfect condition silverado bezel, the aftermarket ones are $300.

Re: Radio cutout repair

I'm going to cut up my dash and install a new radio........ not even worried about it. I'll be driving my truck and enjoying a nice sound system... just sayin'

Re: Radio cutout repair

I am the type of guy that has no interest in stereos , all I need is am/fm an aux input would be nice though , as to speakers I don't care , my 2004 Silverado just has the stock am/fm radio .

Re: Radio cutout repair

Mine was already cutout, If I had a virgin dash I think I would pony up the dough for a factory unit with modern amenities.

Re: Radio cutout repair

I would never cut my own dashes up, but many of the ones I've owned already were and I just lived with it. Although, I always like to prod buddies that are big into stereo systems with "Those that can't build nice sounding engines install stereos".

Send me a PM. I have an OEM solution that doesn't require welding or repaint

Re: Radio cutout repair

I fixed my 78 with a carefully trimmed donor piece and some small screws.
