Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I couldn't get the Burb started after it sat for the winter and I traced it to the Carb. After I took the Carb apart and cleaned it she started up. It was the first time I took apart an Edelbrock Carb, it was very easy to do.

I need to do that with one or more of mine. I have a new kit for one of them so I need to just do it. Thanks for the report.....

I'm going to start using a fuel stabilizer called Star Tron from now when I store it for the winter.

Ive heard good things about Star Tron.
I had been running the Lucas stabilizer in my Nova but still had problems. This was with starting it every 3 weeks. In Lucas's defense, I suspect the last tank of 92 I bought was probably not the freshest.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Been cleaning and prepping the engine to be painted chevy engine orange.

Detailing the engine, etc

Its been driving me nuts that the engine was blue even though its an original 327 (was rebuilt in the 70s and painted orange.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I found it on the road in the middle of an intersection. It's off a Toyota RAV 4. I cut off the bottom so it just sits on the carpet. I picked up the "CHEVY' emblem at a Chevrolet dealer while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They have a Chevy model car there that is actually called a "Chevy"'

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

My door handle broke and I fixed it...

Fixed my turn signals and hazards turns out it was a few things.

Bad flashers, the brown wire for the turn signals has been poorly patched at one point and was loose and the hazard button was sticking and wouldn't pop back out causing the turn signals to not work...

Fixed all that and been driving it to the store and around town. Really enjoying it and ironing out all the little things that keep coming up as expected for a truck that hasn't drove on public roads in a few decades.

Cool Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I pulled out the rubber flooring and started prepping to install the new carpet. Too hot to finish, it will have to wait for another day.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Got tired of having the oil gauge pegged at the top (60PSI), so am upgrading to an eighty pound gauge. Going to fix up the face of the 80 PSI gauge.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Its stereo time for my 72 burb. After years of rust repair, body work, paint, and then finally interiour Im finally going to get the stereo to work.
It has a classic aftermarket radio that fits in the stock dash. Kinda old, with a cassette player, but it seems to work.
Well, the right side works.......
Im going to pull it out and rewire it and see if both sides will work.
Meanwhile, I got some new speakers and even an old school bazooka bass speaker that looks like it will fit under the back seat.
