My "New" 1968 GMC C25

Hello all, I'm new here. I picked up a 1968 GMC C25 longbed about two weeks ago. I'll attach a couple of photos so you can see it. It was originally the teal color of the interior, but it looks like it has a replacement bed on it. The bed is in perfect shape, but it was originally light blue before someone rattle canned black primer all over it...

I did the front brakes this past weekend (yes, it took an entire weekend because my local O'Reilly ordered literally every wrong part). When I drove it home from Elk Grove (about 50 miles) two weeks ago it had no brakes; thank God for that granny gear!

While I've been working on it I've been pretty surprised to see how much of it remains original. I'd love to hear any thoughts about it. Eventually I'd like to return it to the original teal color, but that's a few years away. It's got the original 307 V8 and it starts right up every time. If you need more photos or anything let me know! I don't know much about it. I used the vin decoder and it's a 2wd V8 3/4 ton Wideside made in 1968 in Fremont, CA.

100kB max file size? This is gonna be harder than I thought...

Re: My "New" 1968 GMC C25

Congrats on the new truck. There is a fair amount of good survivor trucks in California. Mine is a 69 GMC C25 also made here in Fremont.

Not too much rust compared to some of the ones from the east.

Does it still have 8 lug on it ??

Re: My "New" 1968 GMC C25

I have a 68 GMC that is a 3/4 [for now]. It has the same color int as your does but mine is a buddy bucket with power steering and brakes, air and a speed warning. I have added tilt and a tach vac dash and plan to put back a big block [as it had one from the factory]. I already have a 68 frame with 5 lug suspension[coil sprung rear] and will put a wood floor short bed on it as well.[it had a wood floor too] I think my truck was pretty well loaded from the factory and is gonna make a fun truck. I think your is gonna be lots of fun too

It does still have the 8 lug hubs on it, believe it or not! I was surprised when I saw that. One lug was broken off and I'm having a hell of a time finding a replacement!

Unfortunately, my wife wasn't too happy with the truck. So "we" decided to sell it. I'm not sure if this is appropriate, but if you're interested here is the Craigslist ad for it.

Yeah if mama's not happy, nobody's happy. I hope your couch was comfortable.
