What wheel width will fit 1960 Suburban
I'm staying with the 6 lug wheels and for now I'm running the stock rear differential, but may have to upgrade to newer, so trying to decide what route to go on wheels.
Currently, I have 15 x 8's, the tires are 31x10's, but they are old and crusty and thus have to go. I also have no clue how they sit with the truck lowered as that's not finished yet. I'll be 2-1/2" drop spindles up front with 4" HD coils in the rear. If that isn't low enough, I might look into a short block in the rear, we'll see. I don't want to get into having to notch it. Once I get the rear set right I'll turn the torsion bars to get a slight slope to the front. I like the look of the tire coming closer to the edge of the rear fender and I like a bit wider rear tire. I've been thinking of running 10" wide wheels, but curious how they fit and I also wonder if that's a lot harder on my rear diff. Would I be better just running spacers to get the wheel/tire pushed out a bit and possibly run a wider tire for the rear? |

Re: What wheel width will fit 1960 Suburban
Im running 15X8 truck ralleys on my 65 Suburban with 235 75R15 tires. I did run 255 70R15 once but they were rubbing the inside of the rear wheel wells whenever I hit bumps. Im going to drop the rear about 2" so wont go wider

Re: What wheel width will fit 1960 Suburban
I saw a '62 this weekend and he was running 235 75R15's and I really like the way they filled up the fender well from the side. He was running a wider axle and a drop.
