floor mats

I'm curious if anyone has tried retrofitting a later model 88-98 vinyl floor mat in their 67-72 truck.

Im not a fan of carpet in a truck.
Walking around the local jy's I see alot of later models 88-98 with decent mats in them.
I realize they may not be a perfect fit but they might be workable, has anyone tried it?

I bought a new rubber floor mat for my 67 and for the price of it I'm not real impressed with it.

My k20 is gonna be a work/play truck thats gonna take some abuse and gm factory parts seem to hold up better than some repop stuff and the later mats really don't look too bad anybody tried it?

Curious here.
