Identify this for me

I can't get a picture right now but I figured it should be easy to tell me what it is. I am wondering what the hose is/does that goes from the carb (underneath the filter) to the drivers side valve cover.

It vents the crancase and draws the stinky vapors into the engine to be burned.

It also pulls a vacuum on the crankcase to seal the rings to the cylinders and to prevent blowing all the seals out in the bottom end. Very important it is.

Will a local autoparts store carry it? Mine looks in pretty bad shape, and I think I should replace it asap.
