Cyclone Headers

Hi there,

need some help for my old K10. I have some Cyclone performance Headers for my 5,7 sb engine but it seems they didn't work well. On driver side the header touch the engine mount a bit and it also seams the transmission steel frame is in the way for the following hose. On passenger side it is very close to the shackle.

What is the best header for a 1976 Chevy K10?

Maybe someone know the correct name of the Header I have?
It seams to be an old one from arround 70/80 Called Cyclone Header.
There is a plate on it with following text: Cyclone engineered by Bob "H" or "M" could be also "Mc", then double "dd" and "en" and then serial 56660) I can't read the signature of Bobs full name.

Sorry for bad english and thanky for any help!

Re: Cyclone Headers

Welcome Roybetty,

IIRC, Cyclone was a company brand, not very high end, in-expensive and easily found anywhere in the States. (at least back in the day).

I tried a "free" set of headers on my '73 K-20... They fit tight, though pretty well, until I hit a bump then the front driveshaft hit 1 tube and closed it at least halfway. I found out it's better to buy for your application.
If you can get some without paying through the nose, just order some new ones. (don't know what shops ship internationally at a reasonable cost.) A competent exhaust shop should be able to set you up with true dual exhaust off your existing manifolds.

Hope this helps.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Re: Cyclone Headers

Thank you donat,

The cyclone headers are not used and new, but old stock. Maybe they work better for another car. I take a look at Ebay, LMC and Summit but did not found the correct headers yet.
I am also wondering why the stainless headers so cheap. Normaly stainless is better as steel or not?
It seams to be I have a special version of these headers. No probem if they are not high end, but I am wondering about the plate with signature and serial.
