Stock rims and 35's

Anybody ever run a 35" tire on stock rally rims? I have some old K5 D window/white spoke rims I'm thinking about running on my 68 step side 4x4.
Just wanted to tuck the wheels back under the body. Getting too old to be hassled by the law.

how wide of a tire...more than likely they're gonna be to wide for a stock width wheel...in high school I had a set of 34"s on stock wheels...they looked like balloons...

Re: Stock rims and 35's

I've ran 35 12.50's on stock 15x8"s before. They balloon out a bit as Mongo stated. Biggest problem is you have to air them down quite a bit for the contact patch to wear evenly therefor they can ride soft but feel wallow'y and unsupportive in turns and at highway speed.

My Blazer has 35-12.5's on 8" rallies with a 4" lift. They fit the wheels nicely in my opinion.

Re: Stock rims and 35's

No worries. Most people run 12.50s on 8" wheels these days. Rallyes are wide stock wheels at 8". 8"-10" is what they recommend.

I don't know if the police care about my age when they want to hassle me, but that's what is getting old!

Re: Stock rims and 35's

Thanks everyone for the responses. It has really helped. My rims are factory8". The truck is a pavement princess and really won't be seeing much except cruise nights and car shows.
