Inline 6 removal
Hey guys, I don’t see anything in the FAQ post for engine removal of I6. Can someone point me in the right direction of where to hook up chains for pulling engine /trans together ?

Re: Inline 6 removal
I dont know if it is right but when I got mine we took the valve cover off and took 2 of the head bolts out and attached the chain that way. Probably is not the right way but it worked. Just took our time.

Re: Inline 6 removal
We never use chains on inliners. We always loop ropes around them, one front & one rear. Then you can tie loops where you need your hoist to pick up from.

Re: Inline 6 removal
The two stock engine pull brackets bolt onto the head. The front bracket bolts on the front passenger side of the head and is held by two bolts (3/8"-16 x 3/4") that point from passenger to driver side. The rear bracket is bolted onto the rear on the head (the firewall side) with a single bolt (7/16"-14 x 7/8") that is aimed downward, although, not all inline 6 heads have this bolt hole milled in them. Hope this helps!

What engine is it? 235, 230 or 292?

Re: Inline 6 removal
Bolt a chain onto the front of the head on the PS and then loop around the rear part of the manifold closest to the firewall.

Re: Inline 6 removal
Any kind of bracket on each side of the motor will get it.
