Years of Rallye wheel production?
I have researched this but the answers have been elusive,
What year did GM start offering the N67 Rallye wheel in 8 inch. Were the 7 inch available at the same time time? Did any of the rallye wheel caps bolt on from the inside? I am thinking 1977.. D |

Re: Years of Rallye wheel production?
My 1975 Chevy sales brochure only mentions stainless steel wheel covers. Pictures of trucks show small caps on steel wheels as well as the full wheel cover.
The 76 sales brochure shows trucks with small caps, full wheel covers and shows an orange sport 4X4 with rally wheels. There is no mention of rally wheels any where in the brochure. The 77 sales brochure finally talks about the silver rally wheel with chrome wheel nuts, bright trim rings and hub caps. C10 and K10 models only. Wheel widths are not mentioned. |

Re: Years of Rallye wheel production?
1974 is first yr I ever found of rally wheel mentioned in sales brochures for 4x4. Not sure about 2wd. Lower RH corner makes mention of rally wheel.
Funny note, there is early and later rally wheel in 4x4. 74-76 first design was 15x7 with optional 15x8 rally wheel. 15x8 was standard by '77 or so says parts book. |

Re: Years of Rallye wheel production?
I'm not sure on the years of wheel production, but I have a set of rally caps that bolt on from inside the wheel. They are smooth on the outside without indentions for the lug nuts. I can remember seeing these caps on new trucks from 1975.

Re: Years of Rallye wheel production?
Our ‘75 C10 swb bought new had rally wheels. I don’t know what size but they did have the center caps that bolted from the inside.

Re: Years of Rallye wheel production?
Hey I'd love to see a photo of the caps that bolt on from the inside. I've never even heard of that!

Re: Years of Rallye wheel production?
I would like to see some definitive information on this. I have 3 different styles of 6 lug caps and 2 different styles of the smooth 5 lug caps. The one set of 6 lug is the earliest and crazy rare! They are taller than most of the 6 lug caps people are used to seeing.
