Close! Temp sending unit is shown below and it affixes in the LH cylinder head. BTW Lectric Limited supplies temp sending units ( https://www.lectriclimited.com/elect...ing-unit-86920 ) that are accurate, those from typical auto parts suppliers tend to be inaccurate per several reviews on this forum.

Yea I have one of those. It runs the mechanical fan which robs 30 h.p. from the motor.

Couple parts, including washers. Notice the depression in the washers. They're 1/2 ID.

As for the other parts, on my truck GM used two 1/8" at the rear portion of the blank, and two 1/8" at the front. The front also included two 1/16", and one of these on each side of the truck is shorter than the others. Couldn't tell you why they didn't just use another 1/8". Can't say for sure if that's how to rebuild it, but seems so.

Probably time to replace the carpet.

The washers are a mystery to me, but from your description, I would guess the top rear of the front fender.

They're upper control arm shims and washers to mount the control arm shaft. The washers have a depression because of the studs in the support. Seems to me they came that way to begin with. The washers are thick, 7/32"

Assembly order from the inside: Support Studs > Washers > Shims > Shaft > Lock Nuts



Now if I can just figure out how to remove the &$^$$^ "zerk fitting caps" from the control arms.

Ha.............As I learn about alignment, I'm probably wrong about those shims being "GM". Could have been a shop, which would explain the shorter ones.

Tony, you're on to something here. They are for front bumper or grill (depending on year) park/turn signal lenses. The longer screws are 69-72 lenses and the shorter ones are 67-68.

Those ferrules in question are for tail light bezels and I'm pretty certain they are not the same as Blazer/Jimmy rear panels and definitely not the same as 72 door panel screw ferrule. I've got a few of the 72 door & tail light bezel ferrules.

The ferrules from the panels are folded over to secure them to the panel. I unfolded an example and it fit well on an OEM 72 door panel screw like that shown above. Unless unfolded the panel ferrule will not fit into the holes for the rear light trim screws. Once unfolded it fits fine. I'm a little uncertain as to what screw was OEM for the tail light trim but have a good idea.

I'll dig out the nos spacer/ferrule and compare with those from the blazer panels side by side. At this moment I believe the blazer panel example could be used as a substitute but with a little work to unfold the rolled inner edge.

The inner diameter of the ferrules for the blazer panels match those of the spacers for the rear lamp trim but there are differences

1. The "crown" of the k5 panel ferrule is larger (example below on the left, nos rear lamp trim spacer on the right) and visible about the screw head one installed. Would this be the case with the correct OEM ferrules used for the 72-only panel screws as well?

2. The shaft of the k5 ferrule is longer.

The k5 panel ferrules could be a usable substitute it seems.

K5 panel trim ferrule on screw for 72 door panel...these are the screws that were found on my blazer but differ from show above.

I pulled out trim screws with smaller heads that are similar to those John posted above. The spacer fit well on these but I could not get the screw plus the spacer to fit through the hole on a NOS 72 door panel I had lying near the bench. Screw by itself fit fine. I'm sure the hole could be enlarged to accommodate the spacer.
