Yeah but I'm looking specifically for the Chopping Block front and rear sway bars. Their rear is a torsion bar style specific to their frame kit. I haven't seen any pics of their front sway bar yet. But I will check it out! Thanks.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Finished up a few details, going to go get a safety inspection and renew the tags. They've been expired 2 1/2 years. Power disc brakes snowballed considerably. I gutted a 1995 Silverado for its drivetrain and installed the whole lot in my 63, harness, computer and all. The fuel injection works perfect. Tbi 5.7 4l60e should do decent on gas. If you know how to solder, cutting up and reworking the harness is not too bad. Took about 4 hours the first time. I think I can do the next one in 2 now that I've worked a few things out. The 88-95 obd1 trucks are fairly easy to work with and super cheap.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I finally took the ugly brown seat cover off the back of the seat today. I am so thankful that they didn't remove the original cover. Had to clean the seat for it just to look like it dose now. Is there anyone out there that makes seat covers like this? Too bad the bottom seat is all ripped up. I want to remove that one also but need something to put over the ripped part. It is better then they ugly brown cover..
I also installed my right side mirror. The one that was on there was falling off so I took it off.

Polished everything that can get shiny. Got some hedman headers to install in the next month or so. I’ll need new exhaust to match, they’re a lot shorter than the hooker supercomps.

Started restoring my door panels today. Trying to remember if the white is in the raised center section only or do I do the recessed ring white as well? Can someone help me out with this question? Thanks

Thanks cruzn66. Is your truck a 66? I had my panels done like that but found out that was how they did them in 66. In my 65 literature it shows the center raised section and the recessed "ring" white but seeing pics of original trucks shows only the center section white so Im not sure.

Hey, your truck has exactly the same upholstry mine did! What a surprise, right?

What I did to my truck today was talk with a competent mechanic (which I am not) about what ails it. He suggested replacing my points and condenser with an electronic module. He also doesn't think the issues I'm having are just the carb. I'm thinking of taking the truck to him and seeing what he says about it. I suppose someone who actually knows what they are doing is an improvement over my incompetence any day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Finished and installed my metal console to hold my new radio. I'm kinda a music guy so I need my tunes but I didn't want to cut the truck up to have them. I fabbed this up from some sheet metal and round bar and painted it to match. Works out great. For now the 3rd passenger's feet fit right under it. When I put the 4 speed in it the middle seat won't be as usable I guess.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Got the back inside panels sanded and ready for primer. Do that next week as I have one last trash run to the dump then never again. Gettin' tired of having to repaint it. Twisted my knee doing this 3 weeks aftet surgery. Guess I should go easy from here on out.

Replaced fuel sending unit and speedometer cable. After almost 3 years finally know how much fuel is in the tank and how fast the truck's going.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I fixed my hard to push door handle button by spraying the latch with PB Blaster. It's been pretty cold latly and I think the grease just lost its greasyness.

Replaced the door check/stop. Replaced the vent window rubbers and beltline felts.

Checked out why my heater fan would only blow on high. I was not sure if I need the switch or the resistor. So I pulled the plug from the switch and found the hot wire with a test light. Then I used a jumper wire to test the fan. It worked on all speeds so I thought I would be ordering the switch but after I plugged it back in all of the speeds are working. I guess the blades on the switch were dirty.

I also took the headlight apart to see why it's loose. It will need new adjuster screws.

I'd say it was a pretty good day.
